Bio
My love of nutrition started when I was about 11 and flourished thru 4-H and in cooking for my family. After graduating from high school (I won’t mention how long ago this was!), I knew that my goal was to become a Registered Dietitian and was accepted into the dietetics program at the University of Idaho. After graduating from college, I worked at various hospitals in the Seattle and Everett area for 11 years, including a teaching hospital/trauma center as a nutrition support dietitian, as an outpatient dietitian and as a consultant for a midwives clinic and an HIV/AIDS clinic.
As a mother of 3, I have taken some time off to give my children my full attention. Now that they are nearly all school-age, I am ready to shift gears and head back into my beloved nutrition field, but this time as a consultant and author. In the past 7 years, I have found challenges in doing triathlons, ½ marathons, playing soccer and becoming a member of my local Sawtooth Master’s Swim team. I also enjoy weight lifting, water-skiing, hiking and scuba diving. In the summer, you will find us camping and boating most weekends. I have a strong interest in Sports Nutrition and have gained first-hand knowledge by training and competing in various events. |
